Did you know? Harassment & Discrimination
Harassment, Discrimination and the Right to a Safe and Respectful Place of Work and Study
As faculty and staff, you are accountable to BCIT for maintaining an environment that is inclusive for all people, regardless of their identity, faith or any other attributes protected under human rights:
You are also protected by the same provisions in the work you do for BCIT. You have a right to work and instruct in an inclusive and harassment/discrimination-free environment. Should you feel these rights are not protected, or, if you are facing a complaint by a student, colleague or manager – we can help! The FSA has been successful in working on behalf of several faculty in recent months who have been named as “respondents” to complaints. We also assist FSA members who feel they may have a complaint about harassment and discrimination.
