    Performance Development System Co-ordinator

    1 year, 0.5 FTE Release

    The BCIT Faculty and Staff Association is looking to select a regular member to serve as Performance Development System Co-ordinator with 0.5 FTE release provided by the Vice-President Academic for a one year term beginning sometime in June.

    This bargaining unit release-time position is responsible for the oversight and advancement of the joint FSA-BCIT Performance Development System (PDS).

    Reporting to a joint labour-management steering committee, the Co-ordinator’s responsibilities include:

    • Leading the execution of the PDS Strategic Plan
    • Reviewing and recommending changes to the PDS and the existing manual
    • Resolving issues regarding implementation of the PDS
    • Creating and executing a communication plan for the PDS
    • Developing strategies for applying PDS to areas of the FSA membership not yet using it
    • Improving the operation of the PDS where it is in use
    • Co-ordinating the steering committee
    • Preparing policy on PDS uses and practices

     

    Criteria used by the FSA to select the co-ordinator will include:

    Knowledge:

    • The existing PDS
    • Performance development processes generally
    • BCIT administrative functions, including the role of the FSA

     

    Skills:

    • Written communication
    • Project management
    • Group facilitation
    • Judgment and tact in dealing with colleagues and managers

     

    Experience

    • Design and administration of surveys and other formal feedback processes
    • Policy development
    • Joint labour-management projects
