    World Day of Social Justice

    World Day of Social Justice

fsa-values-poster-final-smallIn 2007, the United Nations General Assembly declared February 20th as the World Day of Social Justice. This year’s theme is “Preventing conflict and sustaining peace through decent work” – a theme that fits with our vision for outstanding careers through outstanding employment conditions. In a year that is less than two months old we have already witnessed tremendous injustice here in Canada and also around the world. These events give us all pause to consider what kind of world we want to be a part of building.

Today we say that we believe in a world that welcomes newcomers, a world that celebrates diversity, and a world that stands up against hate crimes. As staff and executive of the FSA, we come to work every day to make working conditions for our members better, safer, and more secure. We are proud to be a part of an organization where our members are striving for the same for their communities and their colleagues.

We encoTeresaurage each and every one of our members to condemn recent and any future attacks on human rights and to seek to understand those we may see as different. An injury to one is an injury to all.

    In solidarity,

    Teresa Place, FSA President
