You are invited to an open forum session to discuss the Performance Development System (PDS). In December 2014 we held three of these sessions and heard feedback that we needed to offer more in early 2015 for those who couldn’t attend and to also hold sessions at a time when they would be more convenient for many of our Part-Time Studies employees. In response we are offering another round of sessions in March 2015.
The PDS has been used by Instructors, Assistant Instructors, and Non-Instructional FSA members since 2003. Many FSA members have been “grandparented” into their own departmental performance review systems, however I encourage all FSA members to participate in this very important and timely discussion. Part-Time Studies instructors conduct their own Student – Instructional Surveys at the end of their course.
The purpose of this forum is to gain clarity and better understand the current process and how the PDS can better serve the members as a growth opportunity, and to see if the PDS can tie into the BCIT Teaching Excellence Strategy which is currently under development.
I started the PDS Coordinator role June 15, 2014 and I look forward to meeting with you and capturing your ideas, feedback, issues, etc. that have been experienced by you or others in your area.
In this round there are two 1-hour slots scheduled at the BBY campus and two 1-hour slots at the DTC campus to allow optimal attendance by all FSA members.
